Matt Rawle
Matt was born in Birmingham and lived in the Selly oak area with his parents for nearly twenty years before going to drama school in London.
His first taste for the theatre was as a child performing in many professional shows in the cities theatres including Fifteen Streets, Jesus Christ Superstar (Alexandra), Our Day Out, Alice In Wonderland and TheWizard Of Oz (Birmingham Rep), Oliver and The Sound Of Music at the Birmingham Hippodrome.
Since leaving Drama school ten years ago Matt has accumulated numerous theatre credits including Chris in Miss Siagon (Drury Lane), The Three Muskateers (Danish Radio), George Merry in Treasure Island (Lyric Hammersmith), Martin Guerre in Martin Guerre (Original Cast Prince Edward Theatre), The Go Between (The Pleasance Theatre), Tom Gradgrind in Hard times (Theatre Royal Haymarket), Mother Claps Molly House (National Theatre), Almost Like Being In Love (National Theatre), Soldier in Hello again (Bridewell Theatre), Prince in Into The Woods (Donmar Warehouse), Putting It together (Chichester Festival Theatre), Marius in Les Miserable (Denmark and Dublin), Toreador in Carmen (Scarborough, New Vic Theatre Stoke, Bolton Octogan), Puck and flute in Midsummer Nights Dream and Lancelot in Camelot (Regents Park open Air Theatre), Cheshire Cat in Alice in Wonderland (Bristol Old Vic).
Matthew has also been involved in various recordings and workshops (Mamma Mia, Scheherazade), Royal Variety Performances and concerts all over the world.
This is only Matt’s second performance in the Midlands since leaving drama school and he is thrilled to be performing in front of a home crowd.
