Julie-Alanah Brighten
Julie–Alannah trained at the Guildford school of Acting, where she won the Margaret Veale award for singing, and the National Youth Music Theatre, which took her to the Edinburgh festival to play Linda English in Pal Joey.
Theatre work includes Alice in Rebecca (Theatre Royal, Windsor and UK tour), Lady Jacqueline in Me and my girl alongside Gary Wilmot (UK tour), Beth in A Christmas Carol (Haymarket Theatre) and Putting it together, directed by Ed Hall (Chichester Festival).
Her West-end credits include Sam Mendes’ production of Oliver! (London Palladium), the title role of Belle in the original cast of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast (Dominion), Florinda in La Cava (Piccadilly), Pam Luckowski in The Full Monty (Prince of Wales) and Andrew Lloyd Webbers one woman show Tell me on a Sunday directed by Mathew Warchus (Geilgud) for which she won a Whats on stage Award nomination.
Television and film work includes Doctors, Call up the stars and Happiness all for the BBC and last year she filmed A Christmas Carol for Hallmark/NBC alongside Kelsey Grammer and Jennifer Love Hewitt.
Julie-Alanah can be heard on the original cast recordings of Beauty and the Beast, La Cava and A Christmas Carol.
She has just completed a run of Michael Blakemore’s award-winning production of Kiss me Kate in which she starred as Lilli Vanessi.
